VIII . Most of my muses don’t have set/default verses. I fit them all into most situations and/or other people’s verses; they vary and wander all over as I see fit. All my muses are dynamic, but they will not change overnight to be completely other people (unless a certain verse/idea/plot demands it and is discussed beforehand). My canons are based on cherrypicked canon, but they're also a mixture of personal headcanons, fanon and canon divergent stuff I’ve seen floating about and liked.IX . I believe in mutual engagement in this collaborative hobby. The level of output you give is the level of input you'll likely receive. If you’re only passively replying to things sent your way and relying on me to make the first move every time, OOC or IC, we're probably not going to mesh. Please remember that the best, safest communication is an open, honest communication; I'm always an IM or ask away any time to answer any question or talk about anything.

About Communication / Engagement .Roleplaying is, for me, a collaborative hobby that thrives on mutual effort. It's the magic of two minds coming together to weave a beautiful world/story/relationship for their muses.
Engagement, for me, is all about wanting to make things work and putting in an effort so both parties can have a great time together.
Do not mistake activity for engagement; activity is about frequency, which can vary depending on a person's life, but engagement is about reciprocation and involves actively participating to the best of your ability.
There's been a lot of discussion in the Tumblr RPC about what engagement should look like. I’ve read many PSAs and posts about it and understand that people have different views and/or capacities. I've also had my share of miscommunications and misunderstandings regarding engagement.

To make things clear from the start: just as I take the time to look through your blog once in a while, read your headcanons when relevant, offer ideas, send asks/memes, drop OOC messages, tag you in stuff, and comment and like your posts, I hope you can reciprocate some of these efforts. If you’re only passively replying to things and relying on me to make the first move every time, it doesn’t feel like reciprocal engagement to me. I believe it’s okay to have some level of expectation when engaging in this hobby with someone else. It would be an awfully boring RP space if we all just waited around for interactions without taking some of the initiative ourselves.
To quote a really accurate paragraph I saw on a great PSA: "yes, you're forgetful and tired and busy and dealing with health issues. i get that. but you're not the only one dealing with those things. your mutuals are busy and tired and dealing with health conditions too. it's unreasonable to expect everyone else to keep reaching out to you when you don't reciprocate."
